Dear Annette,

We can still use some help with our Thanksgiving basket drive at CEi.  It's a little late to drop off food, but not too late to make a donation to offset the cost of a basket. A complete basket for a family of six runs about $75.  If you can help with any portion of this amount, just go to http://chattanoogaendeavors.com/donate and give online.  We'll do the shopping for you.

We all very much appreciate your throughtful support and prayers for the men and women we serve...especially during the holiday season

Thanksgiving at CEi

[The following should have gone out in an earlier email with subject line: Peace Be With You.  My apologies for the oversight - jl]

Dear Annette,

It feels good knowing that someone is thinking of my family when I'm having trouble providing for them.  (Timothy Thompson)

There are 40 families represented by the students in our program right now - and all are struggling to make ends meet. Thanksgiving shouldn't be depressing and we are reaching out to you to add a little levity to the lives of the people we are serving. Please consider sponsoring a student and his or her family for Thanksgiving by adding a few items to your grocery list.
  • 6 baking potatoes
  • 1 gallon apple, cranberry or grape juice
  • 1 package dinner rolls
  • 1 box stuffing
  • 1 large can corn
  • 1 large can yams
  • 1 large can green beans
  • 4 oranges
  • 4 apples
  • $25 BILO gift card for the turkey and a pie

Just bring these items to CEi Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving (add a greeting card or note if you like) and we will distribute the baskets to our families. Thank you very much for your help and your continued support for our mission of second chances and the men and women we serve....during these extremely trying times.

Don't have time to do the shopping?  Don't worry!  Just point and click to make a donation and support our work during the holidays.

Peace be with you

Dear Signal Crest family,

There seems to be a never ending barrage of needs that come at us, especially at this time of year. Lest we become overwhelmed by "compassion fatigue" I want to share a word of encouragement and an opportunity.

The church's call is to embody God's love in the world. Your acts of kindness really do make a difference. Compassion is never wasted. It has the power to give hope. It has the power to remind people that goodness and mercy do follow us all the days of our lives and that we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Thank you for being who you are - a church with a loving and generous heart. May the peace that passes all understanding, the peace that the world cannot give, be with you all.

Help Needed to Move PreSchool Furniture Tomorrow Night

Dear SignalCrestors,

Help is needed asap to move large items from the back preschool rooms into the POD in front of the church. We have water coming into the back rooms and we want to rescue the furniture!

It would be great if we could rally a few people to help with this on Wednesday night.  Please let the church office know if you can help on Wed. or at another time.

Thank you!

Help Needed for SignalCrest Prayer Vigil

Dear Church Family,

There are still slots available in the 24 hour prayer vigil.  Any time anyone wants to set aside to pray on Saturday, they are welcome.  The church will be open from 9:00a until 5:00p.

If you know someone responsible who could help Carole long and me man the church during that time on Saturday,

please give me a call.

Thank you for your help and all you do to support the ministries of the church,

Kathy Robertson
